Crane Ordway Building
686
Completed in 1904, the Crane Building is part of St. Paul’s Lowertown Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building was designed by Reed & Stem, the architectural firm that designed Grand Central Station in New York. During demolition, original handmade ceramic tile was found in a bathroom, where an elevator shaft was due to be installed. The over one-hundred-year-old ceramic tile was carefully salvaged and given to us to create a mural for the lobby of the building.
